A quick review of the Mepal Campus lunch set featuring a pop-up bottle and bento box. See if this Frozen Friends set fits your child's school day.
Quick answer
Yes, the Mepal Campus lunch set with Frozen Friends design is a practical all-in-one for school, combining a pop-up drinking bottle and a bento lunch box. It's a good fit for parents who want a coordinated set that's easy to pack and carry.
What's included in the set
The set comes with a pop-up drinking bottle and a lunch box with a bento tray. This means you get both drink and food storage in one purchase, which simplifies morning packing. The pop-up mechanism is kid-friendly, letting younger children open the spout with one hand.
When it works best
This set is designed for school days, but it also suits outings and sports activities. The bento tray helps separate different foods, which can make lunch more appealing for kids who dislike mixed textures. The bottle's 400 ml capacity is adequate for a school session, though not for full-day hydration.
What to consider before buying
The set does not include insulation, so it's best for cold or room-temperature lunches. If you need a thermos or insulated bottle, you would need to look at other Mepal Campus options. The Frozen Friends print may not appeal to all children, especially as they grow older.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the bottle leak-proof?
- The pop-up bottle has a silicone seal that prevents leaks when closed. However, the pop-up spout can be activated accidentally if the bottle is squeezed in a bag, so it's wise to store it upright or in an outer pocket.
- Can the lunch box hold a full meal?
- Yes, the lunch box is sized for a typical school lunch. The bento tray adds compartments for small items like fruit, crackers, or cheese, but you may need a separate container for larger portions or hot food.
- Is the design dishwasher-safe?
- Both the bottle and lunch box are top-rack dishwasher safe, which makes cleanup easy. The print on the Frozen Friends design is durable, but repeated high-heat cycles may fade it over time. Hand washing the printed parts can help preserve the design longer.
- What age is this set suitable for?
- The pop-up bottle is designed for children who can drink from a spout, typically from around age 3. The lunch box is suitable for preschool through early elementary. Older kids might prefer a larger bottle or more grown-up styling.
